Everyone knows it's difficult to open a restaurant, but no one knows that difficulty more than Chef Cristina Martinez. Her journey from serving barbacoa outside of her tiny apartment to owning her own place is almost as remarkable as her journey from Mexico to Philadelphia. She and her husband Ben Miller serve a reminder of home to many in the immigrant community, and a delicious new culinary experience for everyone else. She has also been a three-time finalist for the James Beard Foundation Award for best chef in the Mid-Atlantic region.
There are some of the best selling dishes but everything that we make is delicious
"Excellent food and lovely staff. I am vegetarian and the owner helped me with my selection. The green enchilada was the best I ever had. I loved the art on the wall. This place is a gem and I will be supporting it."
"This place is legit. Delicious food and excellent friendly service. We had the pork tacos that were on special and the Camarones Mojo de Ajo, both were so good! Can't wait to come back to try more things. BYOB is another bonus."
"The staff here are incredible. We had the most wonderful waiter who took the time to explain his favorite items and talk to us about their plans for expansion. He was a gem. The food was as good as the service- would absolutely recommend."
